Hello and Happy Spring to all our fellow glass lovers!!

We had a very busy winter show season and into spring, installing new pieces for our customers.

We did an install in Bristow, VA for a couple who had several transoms and bath windows needing privacy.

The husband loves “cut glass” and has a large collection of glassware showcased in a lighted cabinet.

They went one step further and adorned their home with lots of our leaded glass, incorporating color in lots of the pieces.

As you can see in the transom, we used mainly clear glass, but added a light amber border along with light blue accents.

As for the master bath, the corner tub area is an expansive showplace for our work.

Please keep in mind these windows are all clear, privacy glass.  The green is just the trees!

Please give us a call or email us a photo of your window or door along with measurements of the glass portion only and we will send you estimates and options!

April Newsletter

Hello and Happy Spring Glass Lovers!

Our designer, Diane Fairburn, has openings for in home design consultations in the Northern VA area Wednesday April 18 in the afternoon.  Please call ASAP for an estimate and to set up an appointment, as we fill up quickly!

Our feature custom design for this month is a bathroom window we did for a renovation in Midlothian, VA.

We worked very closely with our customer who has loved leaded glass since she was a child admiring her grandmother’s glass.

She loves the intertwining design work along with all the pretty bevels and textured glass.  She required total privacy in most of the panel, however, she wanted to see outside.  We used clear, antique glass in the top center to do so.

Let us know your privacy glass needs in your master bath renovation plans and what we can do to enhance your “spa” experience!

Newsletter March 2018

Hello to all our Decorative Glass fans!  We want to thank you so much for coming out to the Home Shows in Northern Virginia and Richmond.  We saw a lot of familiar faces and met a lot of new people excited and impressed with our work.

On a designer’s note:  Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore just announced their colors of the year. For Sherwin Williams it’s “Oceanside” a dark aqua, and Ben Moore it’s “Caliente” a beautiful red!  Luckily in our glass industry we have these colors to incorporate in to our glass work. Get your paint brushes ready to go and call us to make a panel to match!

For this month’s highlights we are featuring sidelight panels we did for a chiropractor’s office many years ago.  We just had the photos taken and wanted to show these to you.  Look at the detail in the spine!  I recall how challenging this was to do to say the least!

The next design we just installed in a home, among other panels we did as well, for a home that will be on The Virginia Garden Tour in April.

This photo shows how even the simplest design can make a striking difference in a room.  This customer needed privacy and just a little sparkle and they got it!

Call or email a photo and measurements of your glass project for a free estimate and design options.  We are here ready to tackle even the most simple or complex job!

Significance Of Birds

Birds are very common when it comes to decor, and we’ve created many windows that feature them, but did you know that different birds have different meanings?

Here is a short list of birds and what they symbolize (along with a few of our designs to accompany them!)

Blue Birds – Happiness

Sparrows – Companionship

Cardinals – Beauty

Peacocks – Vanity

Quails – Family

Doves – Hope & Peace (No wonder these little guys are released at weddings!)

Robins – New Growth
Herons – Grace

Roosters – Pride

Hummingbirds – Joy

Chickadees – Optimism

Beach House Windows

We are commissioned to do a set of three windows for a beach house in the popular and sunny Corolla Light, North Carolina.  These windows consist of a sidelight by the front door, a master bath window, and a guest bedroom window.  These windows can be seen as you approach the front door, but in the home, cannot be seen at all.  The owner wanted these as a series.

For the master bathroom, the scheme consists of high dunes, an angel fish, and clouds settled against a bright, blue sky.

The sidelight is composed of dunes, a sea horse, sea grass, and multiple seashells.

The guest bedroom depicts a swimming turtle, sea oats, sea gulls, clouds, and more dunes.

The colors, critters, and backgrounds worked harmoniously and not one window overshadowed or competed with another. The owners were very pleased.

Check it out! These clients live in Michigan. They contacted us to discuss design concepts tailored to their home, and voila! We shipped the window directly to them and they installed it with ease. What a lovely addition to their home.

We can turn your windows into works of art next. Give us a call at (804) 798-8806 or visit us online at
